Keep up the brilliant work

As lockdown continues and school remains closed, we want to continue to offer our support to help you with home learning. Our primary method of supporting you with this and communicating with you and your child is through Class Dojo, which has been working very successfully. Teachers have told me how much fun, reassurance and enjoyment they have gained from interacting with the children in this way. I can see how much the children are enjoying it too from the messages, photos and videos that they are uploading!

I have had the pleasure of seeing children learning new skills and learning about the environment around them. From beautiful origami birds, to fantastic bird feeders and incredible fantasy stories about birds.

Each Thursday we take a moment to praise our NHS heroes. Some of the team at Holborough Lakes, have had first-hand experience of the amazing support the nurses and doctors have offered. I would again like to take this opportunity to reiterate how grateful I am to our teachers and support staff. Even when some of them have been battling personal difficulties, they have still been there supporting your child, uploading work and giving positive feedback. Maybe this Thursday we could give an extra bash of a saucepan, or an even louder clap for teachers all over the country?

Although we are all finding our feet through this, and it is my genuine hope that we are able to work together and support each other through an incredibly difficult time, I am unable to give you any definitive answers to when the school will reopen. All I can do is give a little advice at this time; just remember tomorrow is another day – even if it does feel like Groundhog Day!

Take care, and stay safe.
