Specialist Resource Provision (SRP)

Welcome to wallaby Class

Valley Invicta Primary School at Holborough Lakes has an ASD Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) for children with an diagnosis of ASD (autism). The SRP is commissioned by Kent and the Local Authority is responsible for deciding which children could be appropriately placed in our SRP, in consultation with us.

We have been commissioned 15 spaces for this academic year by the Local Authority for our SRP. Staffing includes an SRP lead teacher, SRP teacher, HLTA and Teaching Assistants who all have knowledge and expertise in working with children with autism.

Every child within the SRP belongs to both the SRP and a mainstream class; all SRP pupils need to show the potential to participate in learning and social activities alongside their mainstream peers. Levels of integration are dependent on the individual pupils, their interests and experiences of education. As a school, we are committed to inclusion and it is our expectation that all children across the school are able to access and engage with every part of school life.

The Local Authority is responsible for placing children in the SRP. Following presentation at the SRP panel, the school receives consultation paperwork to review and decide whether the school can meet the pupil's needs. Where parents or carers are interested in accessing this provision, they must contact their child's placement officer at Kent County Council to discuss this further. We follow the national guidelines for annual reviews and provision plan meetings.

You find out more about about the SRP here.
