We are looking for a higher level teaching assistant to support within our specialist resource provision (SRP) for autistic children. This is a varied role and every day is different! Children within the SRP are valued members of both their mainstream class and the SRP and each child has a personalised timetable setting out when they will be based within the SRP and when they will access mainstream lessons. The role of the higher level teaching assistant involves increased leadership and responsibility to planning and overseeing elements of our provision.
Within this role, you will:
- Support children to complete their learning, both within the specialist resource provision and in their mainstream classes.
- Support with the deployment of teaching assistants within the SRP
- Oversee some interventions
- Take responsibility for planning and assessing some interventions or learning
- Work on both a 1:1 and small group basis
- Liaise with external therapists and other professionals
- Provide individualised feedback to parents
- Oversee the daily routines within the SRP
